Aluminium Rainwater Pipes – Information Page
The Angel Plastics range of aluminium rainwater downpipes are available in lengths of up to 3 metres and are manufactured out of extruded pipe and are available in round, square or rectangular style.
Round Pipes
But how are they fixed?
The blue pipes shown in the above picture are manufactured with a cast collar which has built in fixing lugs. You fix one pipe to the wall and fix directly and then drop the other one in which locks into place. You can work from the ground upwards or vice versa.
The other type of pipe available is the swaged collar. This is manufactured by way
of increasing the diameter of the milled aluminium rainwater pipe using a
swaging machine so that one pipe fits into another. A swaged collar does not
have fixing lugs and so individual brackets are required for fixing very much
like the way plastic pipes are fitted. These individual pipe clips are available in either ‘flush fit’ or ‘stand off’. |
Square & Rectangular Pipes
But how are they fixed?
All square and rectangular aluminium rainwater pipes are fitted with cast collars shown in the red pipe picture and are fixed exactly the same as the round pipes. | |
There is also a swaged option for the 76mm x 76mm pipe. These individual pipe clips are available in either ‘flush fit’ or ‘stand off’ |
